Prashant Kishor Says No Political Party Now, Announces 300 Km 'Padayatra' From Oct 2

New Delhi: Election strategist Prashant Kishor Thursday denied any immediate plan to form a political party presently.

However, he did not rule out its possibility in the future and said that the shape of a political party will be decided after meeting people if it's needed.

During a press conference, the master strategist further revealed his plan to undertake a 3,000 kilometers long 'padayatra' from Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran from October 2.

''I will meet many eminent persons of Bihar who can help him in building the idea of 'Jan Suraaj' (good governance) in the next 3-4 months,'' he said.

He further added that his goal with Jan Suraaj is to reach every city and village of Bihar, meet their people, and learn about their aspirations, adding, '' I will start the journey on foot on October 2 from Gandhi Ashram in West Champaran that would cover 3,000 kilometers of the state''.

"If a large section of these people — 2,000, 3,000 or 4,000, I cannot give you a number at the moment — come together on a platform or a movement and then decide together that we need a political outfit or a political party, then a political party will be announced at that time," he added.

"If such a party is formed, it will not be Prashant Kishore's party. It will be the party of all those who want to contribute to it," the poll strategist added.

Meanwhile, his move comes after he had refused the offer to join the Congress.

Citing a difference of opinion with the Grand Old Party, Kishor said, "I thought a group like this would not have that power to bring any major change. I could not have added to anything to Congress."
